How did you start working for Bitner Henry?

I was a customer of Bitner Henry for my home and auto insurance for almost 17 years before joining the company.  I had prior experience in customer service, but not insurance. However, I thought it would be a good fit and I am grateful that they agreed! I have to say the family atmosphere here is one that I had not had in my work life before.  It is truly a blessing to work here.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love working with customers and helping them navigate the complicated world of insurance.  It is an ever-changing world that requires you to keep learning.  Finding the answers is a fun challenge that I look forward to every day.

What is your favorite family tradition?

Every Christmas my entire family gathers at my parent’s home. Before we open gifts we read Luke 2 from a family Bible that is about 100 years old.  We have been doing this since I was a kid. It is a great reminder of what the real reason for the season is, and one that I look forward to each year.

What is the best vacation you ever took?

My wife and I were able to visit Cancun together. While the entire trip was fantastic, my favorite part was being able to see my wife fulfill one of her lifelong dreams. She always wanted to swim with dolphins, and I surprised her with an opportunity to do that.  The joy on her face is something I will cherish forever.

What quote, mantra or verse do you live by?

My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I try to remember this every day. It always makes me smile to know that God is in control, and he is working for what is best for me.  It isn’t always the easiest way or what I think I want, but I know it is in my best interest.
